Mrs. Smith has been a collaborative pianist at UNA since 2000.  She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from UNA in 1999.  She has accompanied several shows with the community children’s theatre troupe, The Gingerbread Players, including Annie, The King and I, and Grease.  

    In addition to her work at UNA, Mrs. Smith taught piano and and accompanied the choirs at Mars Hill Bible School from 2001-2012.  She is the only Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in northwest Alabama and maintains a large private studio.  She is also in demand state-wide as an adjudicator.  She is a member of the Shoals Area Music Teachers Forum, Florence Music Study Club, and Music Teachers National Association.  She is on the executive board of the Alabama Music Teachers Association, serving as historian since 2015.  She is the pianist at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Florence.
